Focus on Leading People - a two-part Forum Event for School Leaders
First session - Wednesday 5 May
Tawa College
We invite leaders from your school to attend a series of two Forum sessions that will ‘Focus on Leading People’. This series may interest HODs, HOLAs, syndicate leaders, Kahui Ako across school leads, Deans, SLTs, and any other staff whose role involves leading a team.
Led by Rebbecca Sweeney (Core Education), the sessions will explore and develop knowledge and skills in creating, leading and curating teams, with two of the key questions addressed being:
- How do you make a team work?
- How do you know a team is working?
The following will also be considered:
- Having conversations around practice, including using challenging conversations as a tool for professional growth.
- Working with people and taking them with you, as you lead change.
- Creating purposeful teams working together.
The first session will focus on provocations, research and models for attendees to consider and reflect on. The second session will focus on the sharing of experiences, reflections from participants, and developing the next steps that individuals and schools may take on their journeys in leadership. As always, this Forum series will provide an opportunity for our Loop schools to develop stronger connections with each other and to collaborate on issues of strategic importance.
Dates/times:
Session 1: Wednesday 5 May, 1.00 - 3.30pm, Tawa College.
Session 2: Monday 21 June, 1.00 - 3.30pm - venue TBC.
